Professional musical theatre training led by a West End-trained performer & qualified teacher
Discover StageReady Academy
Professional musical theatre training. Educational expertise. Confident young performers.
StageReady Academy is a specialist performing arts training centre based in Shropshire, offering high-quality musical theatre training for young people aged 11–18. We provide industry-standard coaching in Singing, Acting and Dance, delivered in a safe, structured and inspiring environment where young performers can truly thrive.
What makes StageReady Academy unique is our leadership. The academy is founded and led by Lydia Rose Walker — a Mountview-trained musical theatre performer and fully qualified teacher with QTS, with extensive experience teaching and coaching young people across secondary education and specialist performance settings.
This rare combination of professional industry training and formal pedagogical expertise means students at StageReady don’t just train like performers — they learn in a way that is age-appropriate, supportive, and designed for long-term progress.

Our Approach to
Performing Arts
Education
At StageReady, we believe exceptional training should be both aspirational and responsible. Every session is carefully structured to challenge students while nurturing confidence, wellbeing and resilience.
Whether students are:
-
discovering their love of musical theatre
-
developing technique and performance skills
-
preparing for auditions, LAMDA exams or further training
they are taught by someone who understands how young people learn, how performers train, and how to balance ambition with care.
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all training. Every student is treated as an individual, with strengths celebrated and areas for development supported through expert guidance.

WHAT STUDENTS SAY

Alex Crutchley,
ArtEd Post Graduate Musical Theatre
"StageReady coached me through my drama school auditions, helping me pick my songs and mentoring me with acting through song. I am now off to ArtsEd this September and I could not have done it without StageReady's guidance. I can’t recommend them enough !!"
Amelie Taylor,
Urdang Academy Graduate
Musical Theate
"StageReady's Academy's teacher Lydia has been my singing tutor for the past six years, and I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor. She has guided me through everything from vocal technique to acting through song, always with incredible support and expertise. Thanks to the coaching I received, I now have an extensive repertoire and have felt fully prepared for every audition. I’m thrilled to share that I was offered a place at Urdang on the day of my audition!"
Daniel Webley,
Gustave in Love Never Dies, China Tour
"Thanks to StageReady's guidance, I achieved my highest LAMDA grades to date. They also supported me with musical auditions, and my training played a huge role in my success, allowing me to secure my role on the China tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies. I always look forward to my lessons with and leave feeling inspired."

Our Mission
Our mission is simple:
to raise confident, skilled and resilient young performers, prepared for the world of theatre — and beyond.

Too often, young performers are pushed for results before they have the confidence to thrive. At StageReady Academy, we believe confidence and high-level training should go hand in hand — because when confidence is nurtured, skill follows.

We don’t just teach performance. Our promise is to build confidence, inspire excellence, and prepare young people to step on stage — and into life — feeling truly StageReady.
